First of all, a quick note to I'm going away for the weekend ... because my parents are crazy and impulsive. They're away in the North East somewhere, they got some good deal on a disabled friendly caravan for my mum and then out of the blue they rang me today and were like 'get the train to Newcastle and spend the weekend up here with us'. So I am :)

And the main point of this post ... I wrote HIMYM fic. I said I wasn't going to but really, that was never likely to last...

The rapidly approaching new series of Robin Hood has got me in equal measures excited and annoyed all over again about the misery that was the end of s2. To remedy this, I'm looking for some fic recs.

Preferably I'm looking for fixit!fic, not really bothered how. Marian somehow lives, Gisbourne doesn't actually stab her fatally, it's all a terrible dream etc etc. Also any happy Robin/Marian AUs would do nicely, where they're together and happy after the King returns and everyone lives happily ever after.

I'm waxing on about the reality of the special effects spectacle in the Dark Knight and I can't quite remember what the hell my point is meant to be about superhero movies and the American crisis of faith in the new millennium and where exactly I'm going with my discussion about Batman/Dent/Gordon and their views on heroism.

Bugger it all to hell.

In other news, I don't know where my Jim/Pam muse went but here's some Marauders!fic ...

It can stand as a oneshot although there are two other chapters out there, the last one unfinished. I really never write HP fic but I found this on my hard drive, I think I wrote it last summer. I don't have much else to say about Hamlet because I know people's flists have been pretty full of squee about it for a while now. I will say that it was amazing, the staging simple but very intelligent. They do it with mirrors you know. No really, they do. I was ill but I dragged myself down to Stratford and for the 3 and 1/2 hrs of the play, I didn't feel ill at all. DT was wonderful, at turns frightening, then teetering into insanity, and then suddenly hilarious. The whole cast in fact was amazing, Ophelia and Polonius were particularly good. It was wonderful to see more young people there, I know most of them only went to see DT (I mean I love Shakespeare, but I wouldn't ordinarily go all the way to Stratford to see a production) but the way I see it? The more young people getting into Shakespeare, for whatever reason, the better.

Also, one last little thing because I can't not brag about it. Our seats were the back of the stalls, round the side of the stage. Due to the design of the Courtyard Stage with it's various exits into the crowd, there were several occasions when DT was literally directly behind me, separated by a bit of plywood. Like right behind me. I admit, I lost focus on some scene when I knew he was there.

Wow, I said I wasn't going to say much. Apparently I lied.

Anyways, onto some Office fic. This is a ridiculously fluffy Jim/Pam oneshot that I wrote on Saturday. It is now dedicated to the lovely vhari because she has awesome music tastes and isn't afraid to share.

Any Dream Will Do Recap: THE FINAL

It's still exam season (two down and one to go) meaning I've still got revision to avoid. As a result, I present my final recap of Any Dream Will Do. As ever, it is heavily biased in Lee's favour for which I make no apologies and is likely to be harsher than Zoe Tyler on a bad night regarding some aspects of the other contestants. It's also likely to be worse than earlier recaps since I spent last night terrified Lee would lose and as such, didn't notice as many of the little funny moments.
